My doctor has suggested another antidepressant, but I'm afraid of withdrawal from the antidepressant I'm on. I've tried to come off it ( amitriptyline) myself and it's hell. I don't know if I'm feeling withdrawal or symptoms reemerging. I think it's withdrawal. I didn't feel this bad before the medication. The doctor has suggested Zoloft or Paxil. If the doctor puts me on one of these will I feel the withdrawal still from the amitriptyline?

I've taken Zoloft and if you wean slowly (as per doctor's orders) then, I myself, didn't have withdrawls. Did the doctor wean you slowly from the amitriptyline? And also, not everyone can react to medication as other people do, so it's definitely an individual process. This doesn't seem helpful at all, but I just wanted to share my experience with Zoloft.
