suicidal thoughts

Postby sweetsurrender121 » Sat May 26, 2007 5:53 am

They hit me hard all of a sudden out of NOwhere about half an hour ago. So, I talked to someone I hadn't talked to in a long time and tried to 'catch up' to distract myself.
Please give me some more ideas on what to do.
Thank you.

If these thoughts you are having are serious, you need to call a professional right away. I got the following information from another website for you:

National Hopeline Network 1-800-SUICIDE or 1-800-273-TALK -- All calls to the 1-800-273-TALK Lifeline are private and confidential.

Confidentiality of personal information and of personal disclosures during calls is a high priority for the parties involved in operating the Lifeline.

If your having these thoughts, please take them seriously and make the phone call.

Don't give up, there are so many people out there fighting those thoughts, and just remember not to shut yourself out to people. If you ever come across a person that downplays the thoughts as not serious, just ignore them, it is.

Let me know if you have anything on your mind or need anything.

Yes, the national hotlines are great.

Self-control of thoughts is difficult... but powerful.

I suggestive getting a jump ahead of them by learning cognitive methods such as taught by Drs. David Burns and Albert Ellis.

And... seek out ways you can attempt to be of service to others (one of the reasons I hang arount *here*!).
"I am a Muslim, and a Christian, and a Hindu, and a Jew... and so are all of you." —Gandhi.
"So long as you strive to serve God, all the eternal forces of the universe will harmoniously assist you. —P.Y.

I was suicidal for all my teen age.I believe that I can write a book:
"How to kill yourself in 101 ways" But that was beacuse of my social phobia. Now I feel very fine when i use meds and I love life, and I would never kill myself or even consider about suicide.
