Switching antidepressants question...

I'm switching from Effexor to clomipramine. I have treatment resistant depression with sever suicidal ideation.

Is it possible to have discontinuation syndrome from one medication while switching to another ?

I am assuming you're doing it under medical supervision, right? None of us here are pros – unless someone has experience with exactly those two meds, but even then, we respond to medication differently.

In my experience I switched from one med to another both tapering off/on at the same time and cold turkey, but my response depended very much on what sort of medication was both first and second one. Sorry I can't say anything particularly useful...
