Usually used to treat Parkinsonism, it's also a useful combination for others with depleted dopamine levels, such as myself. Levodopa, unlike dopamine, can readily cross the BBB and be converted to dopamine through the amino acid decarboxylase, ultimately replenishing dopamine levels. However it must be taken with Carbidopa to prevent peripheral metabolism of l-dopa (in other parts of the body, so basically all the dopamine goes to the brain). Has anyone had success with this?
