Has anybody used St John's Wort before? If so, was it in any way helpful or effective? I've just bought some for my friend and was wondering whether anyone had had any success or whether it is only placebo. Thanks

One thing I am going to say is: do not mix St John's Wort with an antidepressant. I've survived serotonin syndrome twice and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
Currently working on my upcoming signature.

I did not use it myself, but was looking into it. On *mod edit* there are a lot of users commenting on it, both positive ("it saved my life") and negative ("never use this") and everything in between. Some people seem to benefit a lot, some people benefit but don't really feel like themselves anymore or have bad withdrawals and some people notice nothing at all.
Good luck!

Thanks guys. I'm quite sceptical on these kinds of things. Definitely won't be giving it to my friend as he takes citalopram. Thank you!
