Hi. I am taking 20 mg of Prozac per day. It is definitely helping, but I am still somewhat depressed. There are a lot of things going on in my life that I am upset about, so that is probably why I am still depressed. I am considering taking a higher dose to get me through this rough time in my life, but I am afraid that I will just have to keep taking more and more. I am also afraid of side effects. Right now I don't have any, and I don't want any. However, I am still struggling here.
Have any of you ever been able to reduce your dose of antidepressant once you have raised it?

How long have you been on Meds for? I've heard generally good things about Prozac, personally never been on it myself, but just keep in mind that medication won't always make you feel 100%.

I've been taking it for 2 1/2 months, so I should have the full affect by now. I don't expect a drug to take away all my troubles, but I need to have the strength to deal with them.
I took it for many years in the past, and it worked well for me.

I'd definitely take this to your psychiatrist or whoever it is that initially prescribed you with Prozac, if you believe that a higher dosage will help you more, I see no reason not to. good luck!
