Sex drive?

I've heard that depression lowers sex drive, but does it completely kill it? To the point that sex literally doesn't cross someone's mind and that they don't see their girlfriend in a sexual light and porn doesn't interest them?

Depending on the individual, yes, this can happen. Some medication also does this. (Lexapro/escitalopram completely killed my sex drive dead. I would rather read a book. I could get it up, excuse the graphical, but I just didn't see the point at all. Why have sex or watch porn if you can clean the bathroom instead?)

This is for my boyfriend. He's not on any medication yet (he has an appointment with a psychiatrist and has ALL the symptoms of low dopamine).

He can get hard with help but only sometimes and just a couple days ago, admitted that he has zero sex drive and never even thinks of sex or looks at me in a sexual light.

I had been under the impression that it was lowered but according to him, it's absolutely 100% gone.

I can answer this based off my own experience.. I have zero sex drive and haven't for over a year or so now. It's really the last thing on my mind. I was on antidepressants but that didn't change my sex drive. It happened when I fully went off the meds
