Grades of depression? *TW*

Postby CatSlave » Fri Jul 03, 2015 5:38 pm

Which are the different grades of depression? And what distinguish them?

Severe depression
Moderate depression
Mild depression

If I am apathic, demotivated, without energy and socially isolated but I do not cry I have mild depression? I supose that those with severe depression cry every day and cut themself. Am I wrong?¿

Hi,

I don't think it's possible to divide it so neatly. For my personal use I have a mood chart where I grade my moods from -3 to +3.

0 = normal mood, doing things, all is well
-1 = anxious feelings in my stomach, slowed down, feeling kinda heavy, but managing to do things with effort
-2 = not leaving the house, but able to get dressed, read, make a meal, perhaps very slowly, but still; some suicidal/self-harm thoughts but not doing anything
-3 = full-on depression attack, barely able to move, suicidal/self-harm thoughts very hard to ignore

That's just me though. Guess you could say -1 is mild, -2 moderate and -3 severe.
Currently working on my upcoming signature.
