Greetings, I am new here. I hope I am posting in the right place. I decided yesterday to look for an online group to chat with. I have been struggling with depression lately and thought if I talked it out a little it might help me and help others and maybe I might find new friends whom understand.

So yes I have been dealing with depression the last week or so. I do not know about you but my first inclination when this hits is for me to isolate as much as possible. Which logically I know is the worst thing possible. So this morning I went out got some things at the grocery and got a haircut and shave and went to lunch. This made me feel MUCH better. It also surprises me how much good that does. I am pretty sure getting a good dose of sunlight is a big help as well.

Hi DarkQuark,
you don't mention if you have bipolar or unipolar depression, so I moved your topic to depression leaving a shadow topic -- hopefully you get more replies.
I completely relate to wanting to isolate when depression strikes -- that's also my reaction. No, it doesn't do us any good. But sometimes people are just too much to bear -- in my experience at least. Glad you managed to go out and get some sunshine and a haircut

Hugs!
Currently working on my upcoming signature.

Hello DarkQuark.. I am rather new to this side of the forum too. Happy you found a place to share your thoughts on "living" with depression. That is exactly what we endeavor to do. Live!
I can relate to how grooming and going out can lift the spirit in a very real way. We feel so, so much better when we do. One day at a time is how its done.
I may not know my way right now, but I will know real soon..
