Reinforcing the Positive. Task

Postby Journeyz » Sat Aug 09, 2014 2:38 pm

So my counselor has asked me to make a list of everything positive i have done each day. Instead of doing this on my own i thought it would be helpful to both me and others if i started this thread.

So really its quite simple. I think negatively and tend to disregard the positive things i have done. I generally have no problem thinking of the positive things I've done on a daily basis, but i get no sense of emotion or accomplishment from them. My counselor thinks it would be useful for me to make a list of positive things I've done each day to help reinforce them.I don't know if it will help or not, but i really have nothing more to lose at this point, so why not.

I'd love for others to join in so we can support each other.
So if you do want to post, just list a few things that you've done today or this week that you see as being an achievement/positive. No mater how small.
You can update daily, weekly, monthly, just whatever suits you
One does not simply recover in a day.

Diagnosed MDD and BPD, and I suspect AvPD.
I feel like I can't go on, but here I am still crawling onward.

Oh look, more $#1T...I was wondering What to do with the rest of my day.

I lived.

Well that's about all I've got.(haha) Kidding. Seriously though I do want to go along with this and help, but I have trouble thinking of the positive things I've done throughout the day.

I have to thank you because now whenever I do something I'm going to try and remember it more whenever its positive. So good luck and thanks again.

Went to a restaurant with 10+ relatives
Edited photos i'd taken last week to upload to flickr

You literally beat me at posting to my own thread, so that's positive haha
Thanks for your support, and i hope you can find this helpful :)
As i mentioned just put down anything at all, no matter how small it may seem.

What a good idea Journeyz, add opening this topic to your list :)

It might be usefull to add some reasons why you find them so positive to reinforce them some more.

I started my new job this week (actually august 1st) which is actually a job below my level of education which makes it hard for me to think of it as an accomplishment. But I am now trying to think of it in a more positive way. Reasons that my new job is a positive are:
I get to be more sociable, practice and reinforce social skills which I find hard.
I get paid ;)
The job market is very hard right now so it's good that I even have a job in (kind of) my field.
I like the job enough to do it without it making me reluctant to get up for it in the morning.
I get experience and maybe I can move up inside this company.

What kind of photo's did you take Journeyz? I hope to someday take up photography as a hobby.

Thank you
I will add it to tonight's post, i hadn't even thought of that
I could definitely expand on some, i think you're right, i'll try and build up to that slowly :)

Well done on getting a new job btw. That is a big achievement! The stress of applying and doing interviews etc. is ridiculous so being able to go through them and actually get the job is fantastic :D

I called back the salon that called me a few days ago to set up an interview.

and in a couple hours I'll be going to a second interview somewhere else.

positive things because I need a second job sooooooooo bad. and I hate making phone calls.
