It's strange how you estimate the pain level of something different when you're upset than you do when you're not. When I'm angry or depressed and frustrated and ready to cut my wrists open, the thought doesn't seem as painful.......I mean I don't imagine it would be as painful as I imagine when I feel better. When the mood passes and i'm thinking about it later, sometimes the thought of that razor slicing through my flesh all the way through my veins. almost makes me chill and I think, MAN THAT WOULD HURT. However, when I'm upset I don't think it would hurt as bad. I wonder if that's me being delusional in the moment due to my mood or if the anger and pain really would dull the pain.

I know what you mean and I think it's down to hormones. When you are in one of those extreme depressive states you might have a heightened level of Glucocorticoids running through your blood vessels. Indirectly, they can provide relief from pain.
