I'm so tired

Postby lonley fading » Sat Jul 01, 2006 1:02 am

my new meds are really ######6 with my mind, I get restless from the wellbutrin and then I get ######6 tired.

I got to take a zoloft too soon and it can make you drowsy.

not like I had any lack of ######6 energy with just having depression either....

sigh

what exactly are your medications supposed to do with your symptoms of depression? i get the impression they're not doing what they're supposed to do.

I get seriously exhausted for about 3-4 days after a med change. Have you tried talking to your doc about splitting doses 12 hours apart? This has helped me in that aspect, and it also allows for more carry over of diminishing symptoms.

Try not to get too discouraged. Meds can be a hugely frustrating stressor but once you find the right combination and dosage, everything else gets a little easier. They aren't meant to solve all our problems, just level the playing field a bit so we can do a better job of it ourselves.

On the flipside, I've found that some psychiatrists over-prescribe meds and dosages, so if your side effects make it impossible to function after 3-4 days, make sure to communicate this with them. It's important to be able to advocate for yourself in many aspects of mental illness, so don't be afraid to speak up. After all, we're paying for services designed to be in our best interests.

great advice, pinkangel467!

if your medications don't seem to help relieve your symptoms, or if your side affects are bothersome, or if you have any concerns about any of it, don't be afraid to communicate this to your doctor. your health and well-being are both very important!

i hope everything will be fine, lonely fading!

take care*

Hey lonely fading,
I'm sorry that ur meds are having such annoying side-effects for u: I HATE when they do that!!!! I've had to switch so many meds, because I couldn't stand the frickin' side-effects, lol. U should definetely talk to ur psychiatrist...it's not worth it if they're making u feel so uncomfortable!

yea side effects suck

I can already tell my mind is forgetting things like.. I'll be thinking about something and then --- i forget---

Thats why I stopped taking zoloft before.. some meds make me sick... and I refuse to take anti-psychotics.

I wish they would give me a real sleeping med like ambien.

Anyway, I oded on wellbutrin before so I don't like taking it either.

But as far as- weight loss - no loss of libedo (sp) - and just generally being a good medication.

I know I know, we gotta wait at least a month to see any reults.

Sigh

I wish I could stop taking them and just make some big life style changes, meditation, working out, mabey some herbal stuff.

I don't like the increase risk of stuff from taking these pills all the time but my husband really wants me to keep up with em. sigh

yes i agree id o not luike feeling tired and hink tyhat the best way to fight a sleep syndrome is too stay up all night and then fall asleep at ten o clock thje next night, and that cgan help you to regain a increased qualtiy of sleepnig patterns. but u see i do not take any medications o i do not really know what you are going through and i t is my gues that you cannotfix this problem simply by adjuusting tyour sleep schedule i and i think that you are gong to have to take a more comphrehensive measuere to get a better quality of sleeping patterns. it hnk that you should inquire your psychiatrist about this and i thin that he is the be3st bperson to take adivice on becuase he is a paid professional and he went to school for many eyars to learn how to hand out medicines and how to cure prohlems that are created by these medicines. i think that it is most important to inquire your psychiatrist and i n the short teerm ai think that it is very hleptful to getr a lot of rest whiel you are tired and it hill help to fend off the effectsd of the meduicationl i ti si very important to understand the psychiatric medictoin are very dangerous things that that they can case a lot more problems than the create and it hinkt hat you shopuld understand that it may just be in ur best interest to not take any medicatiobns at all becuase they do o not like to have them taken by you in case they hamight cause some prbolems that might be most unsettling to you.
