I can't cry anymore

Postby Lady Mondegreen » Tue Jun 18, 2013 6:38 pm

I used to be able to cry a lot.
It's not that I enjoyed the way I felt, because I didn't; I was miserable. The thing is that crying felt like a release and I felt slightly relieved afterwards, which was a lot better than bottling up my feelings.
Now, when I try to cry, I only manage to cry a few tears, and not even for a minute. I feel as if one of my only ways of releasing my emotions has been taken away from me.

Sorry to hear that Lady Mondegreen.

It sure is disappointing when you lose something that you have used as a coping mechanism.

Thank you. I've been feeling slightly better lately, but I do miss crying as a way to cope...

Hi Lady Mondegreen,

Crying is a good release, and it sucks that you lost that ability. Is there something else you can use as a release?

When I was on antidepressants, I found that crying was impossible. Something about those meds prevented crying.
Blame it on me, but know that I won't regret one iota.

I have the exact same problem. I used to cry really hard and now its just a few tears. I found that faking that you are crying hard will make yourself cry a little like before but it didn't last long like it used to. You should try that and good luck!
