need some feedback- badly!

Postby itjusthurtz9990 » Sun Jun 16, 2013 5:42 pm

So I`ve been going to therapy for the last 2 years to deal with my eating issues and depression. It`s been very difficult (that`s an understatement, as I`m sure you all know!) and I`ve spent way to much time in my head as a result. I`d been vey curious about how to help myself, so I`ve perhaps spent too much time on the Internet at work. And been too preoccupied about my terrible horrible issues to focus. Now I think my work is interviewing people to replace me- there are conversations ceased when I walked by, someoen is talkign about new role for a staff member who is newer than I by 4 years! and other things. I`m not imagining things- my boss has seemed uninterested in giving me things to do and sidesteps the conversation when I bring up my questions around this. What can I do? I chose recovery from my ED as I thought it woudol help me in life, and now it`s made my depression worse. My husband of 12 years doesn`t knwo about my ED- he doesn`t know about the journal I was writing @ work and keeping there either. Help! It`s so bad I cry whenever I think of work- and it`s not easy to find another place b/c the community of the people that do my type of job are liek a small town- they all know each other adn if rumors are there- you are unhirable. Help- I need some words to help me get out of beds these days. I feel like I`m no better off and could los everything- career, husband (and daughter) and my recovery.

I'm sorry you're going through this rough moment in your life. First step you can take is share your troubles with your husband. Once you share with your husband about your struggles, I'm sure he will help you the best way he can and you will lift a tremendous weight off your shoulders. Keeping a secret and fighting a battle on your own can be toxic for your mind and recovery. It's best to seek a counselor or therapist that can help you overcome the issues brought by your eating disorder.

Another step you can take is look around other potential employers that can fully put your talents and skills to use. Don't be afraid to indulge in productive activities and hobbies or maybe even start a blog exhibiting your writing skills and/or your journey to recovery. With the right therapist, it can help you morph into a healthy and happy individual and people (even employees and employers) will start to notice. Focus on what is best for you, so that your family can have a healthy and happy mom and wife. Good luck!
