:( Hi, My advice to you is don't give up. Talk to a friend, a counselor, and/or try anti-depressants. Why do you feel so depressed? I know what depression can do to you. I am mourning the death of my mom who I loss to cancer in 2/06 this year. But, I am and have been battling with depression. Please know that you have people who you can talk to here on this site who actually care. Like me, keep posting. You have found a new friend. survivor101...

Thank you for your reply, I just feel rather down, right now!
I have no friends in the real world, so i don't really have any one to talk to who understands,
 maybe i should try the anti-depressants.
Thank you again for you reply and for being here.

Hang in there. Many of us have been in your shoes. Medication works well for most people--so that is always an option. It sometimes takes a few days to a few weeks to take affect, and people often gain weight on them--I gained over 100 pounds.

There are many things you can do. Talking to others and/or posting on this forum and others can help. Just going for a walk in the sun for a half an hour can lift your mood somewhat.

I've battled depression for many years. Most of the time I'm OK. I use exercise, hobbies, self-help groups, the bible, and writing in a journal. They work wonders for me. On my website, I go into detail about what has helped me. I generally do not write a lot here because people may not be up to reading much, and just about all that I can say to anyone is on my website--about 150 pages worth.

Good Luck,

needadviceplease,

It'll pass; you're most likely just having one of those bad days. If not, whatever you do, keep yourself busy and occupied. Take a walk, have a lengthy shower, dance to music, read a book - any of these things should momentarily take your mind off the state you're in. The last thing you want to be doing is being introspective about depression and life, in general.

Crying or Very sad maybe i should try the anti-depressants.

As for the anti-depressants, it's my firm belief that if you want to overcome depression, drugs are not the solution. They can be, for those who require a fix without exerting any effort of their own. If you want to beat depression, you need to use your mind to do so. Depression is not the end of the world, you need to first understand this fact.

If you can subdue depression, try physical exercise - it's good for you and it keeps you occupied long enough to not be thinking about other matters. It's not much but eat some spinach if you can; the effects of its consumption are not spectacular but it is known to combat depression slightly and it keeps you healthy too!

Don't be too hard on yourself and try to stay positive.
