Over the past year I have gone through episodes of (self diagnosed) derealization, and Ive consequently researched the experience, as well as looking at depersonalization. From what other people have experienced, feelings of being detached, like life is a movie, I have realized that is how I have always felt and seen the world. This got me thinking and I am starting to think that my moments of 'derealization' earlier this year might have in fact been moments of clarity. I was very scared at the time, and everything felt more 3D and very real.
Any thoughts? Anyone had this experience?

Your take on it is interesting.
I think I know what you mean. I may have had those moments of clarity. I call them psychotic episodes, but I was more "in it" in a sense. I don't know it others are like that naturally, but it would explain a lot.
It is better to be the widow of a hero than the wife of a coward.
