hello:
I'm recently self diagnosed as experiencing DP. This is something I have felt for around 15 years. I have spoken with my therapist who agrees with me.
In my research I found little info regarding focus/help groups, or even random meetings of fellow DP'ers. I'm very interested in hearing from anyone in my area, with the possibility of meeting to discuss DP, and with the mind of creating a focus group.
if you're interested then please do get in touch;
in the meantime, keep the faith,
thanks
Tom

Tom, thanks for posting but the reason why you have failed to find much info on DP is that it is not a commonly diaghnosed disorder. I imagine that many thousand suffer from it - even here in the UK alone - but I can also see doctors failing to recognise it in patients. As you are self-diagnosed at present, don't you believe you should try to get an official diagnosis by going to yuor local GP? He/she could refer you to a specialist dealing with such disorders (and maybe then you'd stand a better chance of reaching out to others with DP).
Take care,
Kevin

Sorry, but we cannot concentrate long enough to read really long replies or threads so don't think we're being rude if we don't.

Hi,
New to the group. I live in Farnham, Surrey. It would be good to have/join/create a group in our area in order to socialise and just talk about how we feel. i find it so hard to get people to understand DP. They just dont.
Regards
Alcarlo

Hi,
Not sure if you're still looking, but I live in Brighton and wouldn't mind talking to someone else about disassociative disorder...as I think I have it.
Hope to here from you,
Maria
