Hi I don't want to embarrass myself by writing this but I sometimes i enjoy depersonalising. I depersonalise when I get extremely stressed or depressed. I also have Bipolar so it usually happens when I shift from high to low really fast. When it happens I find it actually quite nice. It feels a bit like being drunk. Everything feels really numb and I go into a bit of a trance.
I quess also it takes away reality, for me it lasts only a few hours, the most it lasted once was a week and I thought I was going bonkers. Yeah sometimes I depersonalise and lose my self awareness. I remember being in the city and depersonalising and I was like walking around staring at the ground and a few people were looking at me like I was weird.
But seeing as though it only happens to me less than say ten times a year usually for a few hours at a time. I just feel like it's a bit of a relief actually, like the dizziness and numbing feeling takes me away from reality and I kinda enjoy it. I hope it doesn't start hapenning more frequently though. Anybody else relate to this?

I don't know for sure, but it reminds me of when I'm using a public restroom and I have to pinch myself to make sure that I'm really using the restroom and not imaging it. I don't know why I feel that way but I'm afraid one day I'm going to find myself in the middle of class or something acting out the motions of going to the restroom.

Yeh i know what you mean about enjoying your dpd. Sometimes situations are easier to handle when feeling like your dreaming. although i enjoy it sometimes most of the time i wish i would just snap out of it or wake up or something.
