So long story short I have been dealing with depersonalization/derealization for the past month and a half. My physiatrist put me on twenty mgs of prozac a week ago and also just took a prescription vitamin d supplement that you take once a week because mine was low. I don't think it's been helping though but I seem to have weird unpredictable ups and downs. I will have a couple of days were I go almost all day without thinking about it and have moments were I forget about it completely, I also notice the feeling is less intense. But then all of a sudden the feeling will get really intense again and I get anxious for no reason and just like that I'm back at square one again. Then I will have a week or two were I feel really bad then better and so on. I'm confused as to if I'm on the road to recovery or not, I seem to have no control over my pointless anxiety or the dp/dr feelings. I don't know what triggers them because there doesn't seem to be a pattern anywhere but I just want it to stop it's absolutely horrible. Let me know if you think I'm on the road to recovery or not I really want to get better.

Well, if there are moments when you feel perfectly fine, then I would say that would be something. So keep working with your T, they don't always know what will work best the first time around.

When you fully recover you will feel it, because the depersonalization state and being normal can't coexist. If you recover, you will feel that you have been dreaming ( dpdr state ) all that time and you just woke up. if you have dpdr 24/7, then your recognition to yourself and your surroundings as if they're fake. when you become dpdr free, you will feel that this state of mind is fake in itself.
