i went to the doctor about my depression and mentioned my depersonalisation and i've been put on sertraline. i took some for the first time today, and i'm hopeful it will help somewhat (it's causing some nausea, which isn't great but i'll survive) though obviously the effects won't show for a while.
does anyone know if sertraline helps? i googled it and a few people have said that it can actually cause dpd, but others who had dpd saying it helps. i guess it depends on where the dpd is coming from (i.e. if it's coming from depression, the medication will help with both at once)? fingers crossed that it works!
depersonalization, depression, possible others

in mental problem you can't ask this question and get a direct answer.
you entered a field in medicine that know very little about these things.
so the best answer for you is try it for some time and see for your self.
if it helps..cool..if it doesn't not cool.
I don't recommend psychiatric meds just because of this simple fact that I haven't heard of a cure coming from them(ever).
my personal thoughts about dp/dr is that you should better solve it naturally as you can.
without any brain altering drugs.
but that's just my opinon.
same goes with depression and anxiety.
