Have you talked about what you've been through?
Depersonalization Disorder has ruined my life. Looking in the mirror and seeing something altered, something destroyed. I've looked in the mirror...and drinking was all that helped. My right ear is higher than my left, but my right eye is smaller than my left eye. My left eye is bigger, too big. My right eye hurts. My right ear is higher than my left. Everything changed. I look in the mirror, and I'm confused.
I hate being confused, but I won't pray.
I've lost my faith. I've lost my only love.

Hey ashc, I hope everything is alright. Alot of time I'll look in the mirror and my reflection looks off. For me it looks too old, too mature. I get being confused. I get not liking it. It really suck some days... Alcohol makes it all worse for me. I hope things get better for you soon!

When my symptoms come back drinking helps them go away temporarily. It helps with the anxiety at least. Then I know to reassure myself that everything will be back to normal in three days or so. It used to have me really stressed, because I couldn't figure out which doctors to see (eye, ear or head doc) . Now I know it is depersonalization, and the symptoms go away. It's still stressful, but it's gotten much better and easier with time. Thanks.
