I apologize for not posting sooner; but once I got repersonalized, the subject of "depersonalization" was something I sort of didn't want to re-explore. After being diagnosed as "depersonalized", I started doing organic gardening for quite some time which definitely rooted me down a fair bit and got me back into my body. I had been reading a bunch of spiritual books which all emphasized the concept that "we are not our bodies". I was in India and a spiritual teacher was explaining this metaphysical teaching. During the Q & A period, I mentioned that, while in the East, depersonaliztion and having a strong sense of not being connected to the body is viewed as a spiritual boon; out in the west, it's viewed as a psychiatric ailment. His reply was, "Well, they're full of s**t!" From that day onwards, as simple as it seems, I had become fully healed. The lightness and connection I began feeling to God was immense. The imaginary obstacle of "depersonalization" was no longer something to fight but rather embrace. I truly believe we are all undergoing spiritual initiations, and the realization that "we are not the body" is crucial along this path. It's important to respect the body as a vehicle and keep it healthy, but that's all it is. One additional thing which might be of use is vipassana meditation (
http://www.dhamma.org/) in which one is able through practice to feel sensations on every part of the body while simultaneously not identifying with the sensations as one's "body". Hope this is of benefit to all of you!
