Well I'm pretty sure I have DPD. But I also have AVPD traits as well. Is there any hope for some kind of peace or recovery at all? I have been going through some really bad dysphoria lately and I feel like I'm losing interest and passion with things. I also feel like I might eventually turn to drugs because I'm not sure how else to get out of this. Stuff like cocain seems like it can help but I know it's a death sentence. Is there a safer way to cope with it? Do you recommend drugs at all? Can they be used in moderation? Thanks.

Your symptoms seem more associated with the Avpd...anything bother you related to the DPD?

Absolutely. Drugs are a part of my daily regime and they work wonders.

You just have to find the right ones/combination for you!

If you are feeling down uppers will do the trick. But moderation is key, not just from a trite everything-in-moderation kind of perspective, but if you overdo it or put yourself in a position to be vulnerable to overdoing it, then it won't last...

Your goal is sustainability  You want to still be functional enough to do the things you enjoy, and also not put yourself in regular danger...

No I'm pretty sure that I lean more towards DPD but with AVPD traits especially after doing tons of research on myself. I'm what you what call the "Disquited" Dependent (one of Millon's subtypes) because it's the one that shares the AVPD traits. Its kinda scary because according to Kantor, many people in my type end in institutions and succumbing to psychical illness or exhaustion which when I think about it, really makes sense to be my fate. I have pretty much no desire at all to autonomous, never have (another trait of the Disquieted Dependent). As far as the drugs thing goes, is it possible to use them in moderation without eventually putting yourself in danger? Like, is addiction inevitable in that you'd eventually go from the moderate drugs to harder and harder drugs until you eventually get I'll or overdose or something? Thanks for responding btw.
