Greetings,
Our grandfather is in near perfect health, except for his dementia. Our mother is a conservator as he was already diagnosed and she could not become the power of attorney. One bank account was found and thats what has been paying for his medical needs, but that has run out as it wasn't much. We know he previously had a much larger amount of money saved in years past, but now it can not be found and he can not recall any of his past financial decisions or what he did with it.
We figure this has to be a common issue. Is there any way to see any bank accounts he has opened, closed or been part of a joint account with in the past attached to his name?
Thank you for your time.

I think it will depend very much on what country you live in. For the US, you could start with
http://www.missingmoney.com/ perhaps. And here's more information about the UK.

More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness.”
