Does my mom have DD, or schizophrenia, or what??

Postby catesang864 » Mon Jun 27, 2011 4:31 am

When i was little i knew i had the meanest mom. She spanked with belts for everything but i first noticed something might not be right when i was 10. She started controlling the way my sister raised her 3 girls..then she started accusing her of child neglect and constantly threatened to have them removed..she eventually harrassed my sister enough and told her that if she didnt sign over custody that the judge would put them in state custody(not likely) my sister agreed and my nieces came to live with us. My mom refused to let their dad visit and returned any gifts his family would send. She ended up giving the younger two back to my sister but she wouldnt let her have the oldest. She was already calling granny mom and pawpaw daddy. I got pregnant when i was 19 and when my son was born she slowly started doing the same thing to me. she would ask to keep him weekends but then she would call and say i didnt care about him because i akways pawned him off on her. Then she started saying that she couldnt sleep without him at night until it became every night that she would keep him. She would tell me that im his babysitter and shes his mom. I got tired of it and decided to move out of state. She went to juvenile court and told them that i had abandoned him with her and i wouldnt call for months and i only wanted him when i wanted money and if they didnt give it to me i would threaten to take him and disappear. I ended up giving her joint custody so he could live with us both equally but she has completely stolen him from me, wont answer the phone and tells me that he cant come to my house because i would forget about him or not feed him or take care of him..i recently visited an aunt i hadnt seen in a while and she told me that when she had her son my mom kidnapped him while my aunt was asleep and moved two states away..she had to file charges for her to bring him back and when she did she said she did it because his diaper wasnt getting changed and that instead of buying formula she was buying drugs( my aunt has never done drugs) now i had my second baby 3 months ago and just the other day she told me that someone had been to my house and taken pictures of my drug pipes or something and said she was taking them to the judge. I get to mad at her but then i feel bad because i know there is something wrong with her..my sister told me she had my uncles daughters at one point too..i dont understand why she wants them and why she really believes the accusations she makes. I had to go to court and file contempt for not following the equal residential time. She will scream and yell about me not wanting my kids or doing drugs or saying that if she didnt take them they would end up dead. What do you think is wrong with her?

Hi, catesang864! Please talk to a lawyer or your or the kids' doctor about this and ask them how to get your kids back and how to keep them safe. It sounds like your mother is very disturbed. I don't know if it's DD, to be honest and there's no way to get a diagnosis on this forum. But please post about this in more forums too, like the Living with mental illness forum (it gets the most views).
You should ask your aunt and sister to testify for you and tell a judge about what she did to them too. Then you should get away from the abusive man you talked about in the other forum. Find a shelter for abuse victims/women and their kids. Look for some organization that might be able to help. You can get a job and keep your kids away from abusive people and you will get by, other women have achieved it before.
