You should never be afraid to express your beliefs about anything here because this is an open forum and no-one has the right to criticise you for what you truly believe in. I must admit though, a few years ago, I was also scared to express my opinion about things but I do it all of the time now. I decided that I would no longer live in fear of what others thought of me. I am a person, just like them, and my rights equal theirs on every level.

The same applies to you.

I think I'm struggling to understand exactly what you mean, Sunnyg. Is it that you have beliefs that you don't think are socially acceptable? If that is the case, then I also have such beliefs; and ones that I would never feel comfortable expressing on an open forum, or to anyone, in matter of fact. This doesn't bother me too much though, because I know that the thoughts/beliefs are just in my head, safely 'locked away' for no-one to see.

Sunnyg wrote:Oh, I saw my psychiatrist today. I shared with him that I feel it is more socially acceptable to have a mood disorder, and it will help me fit into my support groups better. He agreed that one could argue that I have an element of mood disorder. I feel happy about the change in my diagnosis. I feel less isolated by this diagnosis...

This is good news, and I'm guessing that there's a good relationship between you and your psychiatrist. You're actually the first person I've encountered here for a long time to mention a psychiatrist in a good light!

I still don't think we are quite on the same wavelength regarding the other thing (the delusions being out in the open) but all I will say is this: Don't be afraid of being yourself and, if no-one likes you for it, then stuff them and move on.

Hey,

I reply to many posts because I noticed a few months ago that many posts go unreplied-to here (on this website). So, I took it upon myself to reply to them because I don't like the thought that someone is out there looking for help, but no-one bothers to reply to them. It does stress me out, but I only have the thoughts of others in my mind - I put them before me. Once I resume college in 4 weeks' time, I will have to cut-back on my use of this website though.

I could very easily just leave this thread as it is and never reply again. I think that we have covered everything there is to cover here, don't you think?

Take care,
Kevin

You weren't being insenstive at all. After all, I am one of the most open guys you could ever know. I ate cous-cous for the first time ever a few weeks ago, but wasn't overly impressed by it. Then again, it wasn't exactly disgusting either. Earlier today, I mixed an egg and tuna in a bowl, added some soy sauce and cinnamon, and then heated it for ~3 minutes. It tasted delicious... ... :P
