Interesting issues between schizoaffective and delusional disorder. My spouse has been diagnosed with schizoaffective. When his delusions are "bizarre" (DSM IV definition) or when he is depressed, he has more insight that he is mentally ill and needs help. But now, when his delusions are "Non-bizarre" and he seems more on the delusional disorder end of the spectrum, he has no insight whatsoever, there, to me, seems even more ill b/c he doesn't want help and just wants to end the marriage.

Hi,
There is hope => there is no hope. Blanket statement: It "destroys the soul". This was a heartbreak to read. I can only imagine what you've been going through. And I'm glad that this forum has given you a place to process your emotions.
That said - as a psychotic person, your assertions make me want to run into the freeway. And I've never been prone to that sort of thinking before. I don't mean to start any sort of beef - at all - but please consider the other people who come to this forum in times of desperation. What they read here can make a huge difference.
Half of the time we're gone but we don't know where
