In all seriousness is demonic possession relevant in psych f

Postby LordByron » Sun Feb 14, 2016 10:48 pm

I really do think this is something to take in consideration. I do not believe a lot of people are delusional or psychotic I am a strong believer that some people are demonically possessed, where outer energies take over their being. This is especially common in young people children and elderly, because they are more vulnerable. Plus teens are more likely to experiment with things like ouiji boards and other forms of divination.

Demons are a fictional, human creation. The concept 'demon' relies on a false assumption that values are concrete. However, values are subjective. "Evil" is an opinion that was originally created by the slave class in reference to the noble class. If you ask me, the concept stems from being "butthurt". The slave class attributed 'restraint' to themselves, though they didnt have any other choice. They didnt refrain from taking over the world because they were so upstanding. They refrained because they didnt have the means (Refrain isnt even an appropriate word, since it implies having the means).

Its like when everyone tore Tiger Woods a new one because he was sleeping around on his wife. It's so easy to say "Oh I would never!!!" when you dont have the option.

Yes, I absolutely believe there's a place for it. In other threads, I mentioned how I was raised in a Muslim household (although we weren't very observant in terms of practising). Anyway, in Islam it teaches that evil spirits (jiin) can enter a house if they keep a dog inside. The dog in Islam is a symbol of the animalistic and depraved. Once they enter, they can get into people's bodies unless they say a prayer to ward them off.

Muslims believe God created jiin, or jinoon (plural) from smokeless fire. I believe they entered my house and body when my mum decided to keep dogs when my dad was working abroad and she had an 8 year affair- obviously behind his back- and spent all his money on her partner that was intended for us.

I think it's relevant, but I've never had a problem seeing the difference between mental health issues and actual demonic influence. But I think the former is much more common than the latter. Most of the time you have to actively try to make something possess you, it doesn't just randomly happen to otherwise blunted and spiritually weak people.
