If your family member is ill......how do you cope?

Being the one in my family with the mental illness, I could imagine it is very difficult juggling things as an outsider looking in, so try to do your own thing and help them out as you would anyone else who had a sickness, but don't be dragged into the fantasies, I also recommend not denying or enhancing the indulgence they have into the fantasies, use a neutral point of view for it.

Right? Those are honestly good suggestions....I recognize clearly what is delusional thinking. And yet being ageeable is definitely an advantage...

I like Armador's approach described in "I'm not sick and I don't need help" book. He recommends a strategy called LEAP (c) for family members and caregivers to use.

I can listen with no trouble; empathize... somewhat overall; but agree? (in response to that): in no way will I accept, nor do I appreciate slanderous lies....
