Mind reading phycosis

Postby ukboy » Thu Jun 11, 2015 7:39 pm

Hi all,

I have been out of a ward for being diagnosed with drug induced phycosis for around a year now.
I was firstly dianosed with schizophrenia then phycosis at 15.

I just wanted to clear something up because i have not seen one bit of my episode anywhere on the net.
I thought i was able to read other peoples minds, and no not people getting my thoughts. Me reading THERE minds.

While i was in the ward 3 staff left there job. I saw them for the first 2days and after i "read" their mind they left the job or i never saw them again.
Can anyone who has had this clear this up for me? or someone who may have some info. I was taking Legal High (pandoras box, exodus and abyss. User a year and a half prior) And a very heavy user for 3-4weeks up to getting admitted.

Thanks in advance

Sometimes as people, we can think we know what people are thinking. Sometimes probably we are right but this isn't an ability special to you, it is called communication, we do it by talking, empathy and looking at peoples gestures and micromovement.

Sorry to break it to you, you cannot mind read. You just can't. You might be sensitive to others emotions and feelings but that is a different thing. If you really could read minds I would definitely hire you, a mind reader could make a fortune in poker say, or on negotiations. Guess what though, I'm not trying to hire you, because I know it is not possible, as in no way you are a mind reader.

Fortunately drug induced psychosis I understand is temporary though can continue sometime after the use of the drug is stopped, most people return to "normality" quickly, others it takes a bit longer.

Best of luck to you!!!!

Thank you for your reply Mr.M yes i have just stopped 2 weeks back taking my tablets after have uncontrollable movements and i am now not taking any medication after about a year and a half. And so from there movements eyes face etc you just cant know what there thinking? I had 3 workers in there and a nurse that i can look straight through a person as in understand there feelings and emotions. Also can everyone do this or is it something individuals are more sensitive to than others? Ive always been able to do it but it was like it was intensified.

I am also now undergoing tests for autism. As some people that i may have it or something alike. I read this article
http://www.khaleejtimes.com/nation/insi ... todayevent

And she can read her mum mind. So going back to what you said it is possible to read minds :)

I will be awaiting for your next reply.

Kind regards

Yes some people can be better than others at reading micro expressions, a very rare number of people have an innate ability to do so (Eckman did a study, it was about 80 in 20000 or something like that off memory). There are a few tests online you can take to find out if you are a savant in this regard (enter in micro expression test to google).

Mind reading in its pure form is not feasible, and not all research online is valid or reliable. If mind reading were a thing do you not think businesses would be employing mind readers to do their negotiations for them?

By all means you could test it. A simple test would be ask someone to think of a number or wordand see if you could can read what the number or word is. Of course they could lie, or take the mick but why would they?

Based on your past history you have detailed here, accepted research and rational thinking, plus the fact that businesses do not employ telepaths I am afraid you cannot in reality read minds. That of course does not preclude you being an empathatic individual who can pick up on people's feelings and emotions with a good degree of accuracy, which is a good skill to have.
