help

Postby starhope887 » Sun Apr 26, 2015 11:27 am

Ok here goes..

I have been labelled that I have delusional disorder

firstly I do not agree at all as mental health team do not have the capacity to understand what I am experiencing..

I have a 'twin soul' connection.. yes it is unusual.. but its not unreal...

It has caused me mental health problems..

and well can people help me... i was referred to somewhere which was too uncomfortablt to go to.. and seeing as they said i am delusional I m assuming you would be treating for the delusion as if it is false..

I dont know how do delusions get treated?

does it treat the symptoms of what I am going through/? or try to get rid of the false belief as such.. Im confused.. because for me I need help in dealin with some of the feelings ect.. but it is far from being false..

a friend a while ago and even his mum were both saying i was delusional when they do not understand.. saying u do not have a twin soul.. that is also upsetting for me..

so how do 'delusional disorders' get treated?? with CBT.. or psychotherapy..

i mean i dont know why people have to keep judging me as delusional..

Hi,
I'm sorry you are experiencing isolation as a result of your beliefs. I know how that feels. The best thing you can do to heal is to try treating your symptoms with medication and in time the memory heals. Also, finding people who will listen is one of the greatest sources of healing.

I've been taking medication for about a decade, and in time you can build relationships that you can trust and will help you to listen to people you trust to help you sort out what parts of your beliefs are ok to hold onto and those that you can eventually release. I say eventually, because I'm still working to release my delusional belief that my physician loved me. But that was hope I needed to be ok during the dark days of my illness. I believe that these beliefs can be a protective or destructive force in our lives. By giving yourself permission to feel, but not acting on any beliefs you'll stay safe. Also, I recommend writing about your experience, if you can write through it, it can be cheaper than therapy, but therapy is important too. But mostly, the medication is what heals when taken daily over time, for me anyway.

Know you are not alone. Lots of us have this sort of issue.
