Delusinal or something else?

Postby DearJaneDoe » Sun Apr 05, 2015 5:46 am

Hi,

If you have multiple delusions at the same time, like having a fixed belief but it changes into a different delusion in a span of 10 minutes is it really a delusion. Also if you are in the middle of a psychotic break and you after a while you start to question those delusions does that mean you are having a psychotic episode. For example, you think that your family is being held hostage, you call your parents to see if they are alright, but you still think that they are being held hostage. A couple of hours pass and then you realize its not true or you logically reason yourself out of it. This is the first time that I experienced this.

Thank you

Dear Jane Doe,
Great questions. I'm not a doctor so I'm not qualified to answer, but I recommend you make an appointment as soon as possible to talk to your medical provider about this. It is important to get care early if you are having psychotic beliefs. The diagnosis isn't as important as the treatment. Getting effective care early is essential.
