Olazapine success?

Postby Helpmyspouse » Thu Jun 26, 2014 11:32 pm

Looking for experience with the use of olanzapine for the treatment of delusions and paranoia.
I read it can make you sleep a lot but is this a temporary side effect and will it eventually go away? Does it erase existing delusions or only stop new ones from forming? Does it alter your personality or only treat the imbalance that is causing the delusions and paranoia? Please share your personal experience with this drug.

zyprexa worked great for me, execpt for the side effects of weight gain. I was able to concentrate and graduated from a masters program taking that medication. It may be one of the most effective medications for me. Good luck in your journey to find a med that is effective and has few side effects.

As for the memory of the delusions, only time treats those in my experience.

But Zyprexa stops the new delusions from forming, and clears the psychosis well in my experience.

Yes yes and yes to all your questions concerning the negative aspects

One would be better off shooting up heroin then the horrors of olanzapine

That's a good one, it really is. Great laugh! Yes, Olazapine has a plethora of side effects, half of them bad (but uncommon), but by no means is it on the level of heroin. Heroin can kill you the first time you use it. Olazapine is used by many as a successful form of treatment. Heroin makes you an addict from the first use. Olazapine has no history of addictions. Heroin is illegal, and can land you a few years in a state prison. Olazapine is prescribed by M.Ds all over the world. The comparison is illogical, among many other things.

Maybe not as bad as heroin but personally I couldn't handle the side-affects. I felt like it took my personality and stopped me feeling much of anything.
