Think my brother may have a DD, advice?

Postby ellijane » Thu Apr 10, 2014 1:21 am

Hi, thank you for reading. I'm concerned my younger brother aged 20 may have a delusional disorder and would appreciate hearing from anyone who suffers from similar. He has always been a little quirky and off the wall but more recently I believe he has become delusional. He believes he can invent machines that transcend time and space, he can create a machine that can cause a black hole, he can create a singularity, and that he has been given the template for these inventions from aliens who sent him a message in the sky. Before this he was obsessed with drawing circles and spirals and was convinced somehow this meant he had discovered the meaning of life and the basis for which the universe had been built upon. He is very excitable and open about his plans, but thinks himself much more enlightened and intelligent than the rest of us and thinks anyone who questions him is just too dim to understand. At night time he believes he transcends his body and his mind can travel anywhere he likes. He's asked me to do tests where I leave a note in a room in my house in the next town, and he is positive he will be able to tell me what it said the next day after travelling there with his mind whilst asleep. When he is wrong he glosses over it, or even tells me I'm wrong somehow! He is extremely patronising towards anyone who questions his ideas. I feel extremely guilty speaking about his ideas to strangers, but if anybody can relate to this I would appreciate their input more than anything. I don't know what to do. It has been suggested to him before that he see a therapist/psych (because of depressive symptoms not psychotic), he eventually went after much badgering, was diagnosed with "borderline bipolar" and he subsequently told us (my family) that the psychologist just wanted to give him drugs to "dumb him down" and that the guy had no idea what he was talking about, he refused to take the prescription and tried to convince the psych it was wrong to prescribe drugs to anyone. He is anti-therapy and anti-drugs, and becomes upset, offended and depressed if they are mentioned. He genuinely believes there is nothing wrong with him and it's us who are the odd ones. I don't want to upset him, but I feel that doing nothing is worse for him in the long term. It's extremely difficult to be patient with him as so many of his ideas are nonsensical and he quickly becomes impassioned in an argument, we don't get along well because our personalities clash, I know I should be more patient with him, but he is loud and forceful in everything he does and has little regard for others' feelings. Is there anything I can do to put him in touch with somebody that might be similar to him? Or does anyone have any better advice? I'm so worried for him and his future. That's if I am right about him having a delusional disorder? I'm scared he will hurt himself or someone else. Please correct me if you think I'm wrong. Thank you.

he needs to take his medicine or he will have an episode...
first off i am not a doctor so take what i say with a grain of salt.
i once believed that "they" were injecting audio signals into all electrical devices. i logically deduced that this was a low frequency binaural tone that could also be transmitted by vibration in motor powered devices and drove people crazy.
i had shut off all items in the house (even the a/c). i could still hear stuff running so i went outside only to see thousands of miniature microphones hanging from the trees. i called my mother because i had been isolating myself and needed to talk to someone. i told her what was going on and she called the cops on me!
it was the best thing she had ever done. the worst part about this kind of disease is that it can be transparent to the individual (they do not see it). if he is acting dangerously the cops will most likely have him voluntarily submit himself or go to jail.
at the very least you need to find someone who can help him but if he does not recognize his illness you do not have much choice.
he has to take his medicine...
ask the right question and the answer is contained within.

Sounds like it to me. Schizophrenic maybe. I am sorry. One thing I can say no amount of proof logic or reasoning will change his mind. So save your breath and just nod your head and say thats interesting. Until he gets help nothing you can say will change it.

Look into Niacin therapy, omitting grains especially oats corn wheat.

Good luck. I have been in a delusional relationship for 16 years. 2 of those unbearable at points. So far nothing has helped. We have good days mostly but the bad ones are a downright nightmare. At least his delusions are fairly harmless so far. So what he he can travel through time and space. Try having someone constantly think you are a cheating lying slut that sleeps with EVERYONE.

Actually I would not be so quick to reject your brothers thinking as "delusional." Just explaining my answer is complicated and I feel some of your brothers frustration. We humans have a tendency to blind ourselves to that which we don't understand. We ignore, discount, and explain away evidence of the things we don't understand. Sometimes the delusional thinking is what we use to ignore the reality we don't understand. The reading of the note inside the sealed envelope is called remote viewing. We (US) spent millions researching this phenomenon. The research was supervised by a group of physicists and psychologists. Some of the results are not easily dismissed so we try hard to forget, discount, or explain then away. I believe it can and has been done, but its just not reliably enough to count on. http://www.scientificexploration.org/jo ... 1_targ.pdf

Secondly, you may be misunderstanding some of what he says. Theoretical physicists are already thinking on the math, physics, and engineering necessary to create worm holes which will permit us to transcend space and time, and even creating singularities and entire universes. Perhaps your brother has been reading some of Brian Grene's books. Even more "out there" is some of the work being done by David Duetshe of London.

One the fastest growing religions todays is Mormonism. It is based upon the visions (delusions) of Joseph Smith who is today worship by millions as a prophet.

Sounds like your brother likes sharing his understanding of reality but is frustrated by others dismissing him as delusional. He sounds like a smart kid. Some imaginative type people live rich fantasy filled lives. Nothing wrong with that. In fact the fantasies sometimes lead to great discoveries. Has he been in contact with aliens? Probably not, but I can't reject that. Has he successfully done some remote viewing and transcended space with his mind. I suspect he probably has and you can probably do it too.

He could be just like me. Most everything your brother is talking about is not only theoretically possible, it has already occurred. In my earlier post I mentioned the remote viewing. My son challenged me to do this. I did it for him once and refused to try again. The result freaked both of us out. (attached) Can I reliably repeat this success? No. Was this just a lucky guess? Possibly but I’d have to engage in delusional type thinking to reach that conclusion.

We humans all suffer from mass delusions. We believe in the existence of time and the locality of space. These are illusions. These things do not exist physically but instead exist only in our minds. We have all been brain washed to think inside this imaginary box of time and space. Our brain washing begins as infants. Are we capable of transcending this illusion of space time in our minds? There is some strong evidence to suggest that we can but since we don’t yet understand it we are quick to reject it.

Tell your brother to work on something else. The machine to create the black holes has already been invented and built. It is at CERN and is called the large hadron collider. http://www.livescience.com/27811-creati ... holes.html

In 2006 a group of United Airlines employees saw a UFO at O’Hara. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_O'Har ... O_sighting The FAA dismissed this as a weather related phenomenon. I’ve read all accounts and it seems to me that the FAA is delusional.

Your brother needs to work on not getting freaked out by the strange reality we live in, and he needs to accept that other people prefer the blue pill and blinding themselves to this reality. Should your brother be forced to take the blue bill?
