does my ex have dd

My ex is paranoid that everyone is out to get him.he trust no one .i believe he has dd.but i believe he also has traits of personality disorders. Npd aspd bpd.hes so munipulative controling jealous abusive man who isolated me for months.i thought he was a pyschopath.then i did research and my question is can disorders overlap eachother .he was a drug addict did that make the disorder worse.just wanting to see what input u guys could offer me.im not taking him back.im trying not to hurt anymore.maybe if i stop hating him i can move on with my life

Yes, personality disorder traits can overlap. Psychiatrits tend to not diagnose a person with a specific personality disorder unless they have known them for years. Rather, they note that the patient has type B personality traits (includes antisocial pd, borderline pd, and narcisstic pd). Traits between pd overlap as well which make it hard to distinguish. Your ex may be suffering from delusions due to the substance abuse. Having certain cluster B personality traits also makes him a "risk taker" further causing him to abuse substances. It would be difficult to tease out exactly what diagnoses he has with substance abuse confounding it.
