Still here

Postby Dark_in_the_Light » Thu Aug 25, 2011 4:09 am

I've noticed a lot of members on psychforums don't stay long. They post a few times for a few days or weeks and disappear. I guess I've far exceeded the normal membership activity expectancy about seven weeks in now. I hope all the people who drop in and drop out are okay. Maybe it's too much for some people to read about other people's troubles while trying to deal with their own. I find it helpful just to read what other people go through as I figure myself out. Although now the same thing that made me avoid getting an evaluation in the first place is helping me come to grips with it. I used to read about people with recurring depression and think my life is nowhere near that bad so I should just quit moping. Now I read about other people's problems and I think I understand how things could get that way. So I should keep doing what my therapist said and watch for signs of things getting out of control.

Boy, do I feel like a putz! I actually LOVE this site and it's been SO helpful... I consider it a part of my own personal therapy because in reading others' postings I find that I'm more able to put my own experiences into a little better perspective. Just wanted to pop on here and let you guys know I've not intentionally abandoned the site... I actually have missed it terribly. Real life just kinda got away from me in the last month... trip up north, dad getting sick, school getting insane, then today I took my dogs to the vet and found out my 6-year old Gunther (dachshund) either has a bacterial infection in his eye or CANCER. UGH. So, I think it would behoove me to stay active, as I need the support and also need to help others because I'm not the only one who has things happen in my life.

Thanks for reminding me that I NEED to log on regularly!! :D

Lotsa hugs to you guys,
Koshka
