Getting work done

Postby Dark_in_the_Light » Sun Aug 14, 2011 1:51 am

It's not hypomania if I got a bunch of work done but I didn't feel like doing it, right?

I'm doing what my counselor suggested about establishing some routines. I thought I might as well make a better routine of cleaning up the house. We have boxes and boxes of stuff from having moved and renovated over the years. It's so easy to box things up, store them out of the way, and forget about them. Seriously, I have things that haven't been exposed to light in 15 years. So I'm going to spend a few minutes every day going through some of the stuff in a box here or there.

I gathered all the automotive stuff Friday and realized that job wasn't going to be done in a few minutes. But I decided to do it all in one afternoon so I knew what was going in the car trunk, what was going in the trash, and what was being saved for a special waste collection. It took two hours. I think that's enough cleaning for a week, but that would break routine.

I kept the pace up for a week and a half cleaning up for a few hours a day. Since last Thursday, I haven't done a darn thing. My hypomania charting is down from lots of 4's and 3's (on a scale of 10) to 0's and 1's. Depression was all 0's until a week ago when there were a few 1's and even some 2's going along with mild hypomania on the same days. My state of mind has gone from "that box of old notebooks and knicknacks isn't doing anybody any good so I'll just go through it and toss a bunch of stuff" to "so what if there's a box of crap I haven't opened in 15 years, it hasn't hurt me yet so it's not going to now". Just a week ago, I couldn't stand lying around knowing there was work to be done. Now I don't care at all. Another thing to convince me I'm cyclothymic for the part of me that doesn't want to believe it.
