Terrible days

Postby The_Eye » Wed Jul 26, 2017 6:29 pm

Hi. I have Cyclothymia. I also refuse to take the Paxil that the doc prescribed me.

I had interrupted sleep for the past 2 days. Also, 3 days ago I had a social situation that made me drink 4 beers.

As a result, the 'monster' came out. I'm no longer the funny, optimistic person that I was a week ago.
It will take maybe a week to get back to normality.

It's like I have two personalities. Right now I feel pure horror.
I have OCD and CYCLOTHYMIA.

I think I may/probably have dysthymia, and from my understanding, there's usually some cyclothemia in dysthymia. I don't comment much on this forum because anything valuable I have to say is often against the rules and/or edited/deleted. But pretty often it takes a few days to get a response, no matter who's posting.

I'm not one to deliver pieties, platitudes and saccharinities, so I don't know how to "comfort" people. It seems fake and ineffective to me anyway. I always let somebody else step in and do that job.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Last night I managed to have good sleep and things seem better now.
I think dysthymia would be a more 'constant' feeling of depression, without the up / downs of Cychlothymia...... but I'm just guessing here..... in my 'down' phases, I'm feeling extreme depression and despair, where in my 'up' phase I'm very optimistic and active . As 'creative' as it may sounds (I am a musician), during the depressed phase I'm the most worthless person on the planet.

Sometimes people need 'platitudes' just to talk about something, as stupid as it sounds :)

Funny, from reading your post I got strong INTP vibe...and then I read your signature and I see INTJ. Pretty similar, maybe INTP is more introverted.
I have OCD and CYCLOTHYMIA.
