Re: Alternatives For Cutting

Postby cosmocoma » Fri Aug 05, 2011 7:34 am

One thing that helped relieve my urge to cut was to find a huge stack of needles and stick them into a pincushion---or, better yet, a stuffed doll. Either works, but I found the doll helped me more because I could project myself onto it and vent my emotions by sticking needles violently into its arms, eyes, head, everywhere on its body. I haven't had the urge to cut in years; lately, the urge has come back again, very strongly, and I hope that returning to this will help me as much as it once did.

Well I just made a pan of jello at 11 at night by the time it was in the fridge there was enough cherry jello on the stove counter floor sink fridge and me it looked like a murder secne. It was a good distraction. I have chased my cat around the house untill I was wore out. I have dumPed the ice bucket in the sink and ran water over it untill it was all gone. The final was I would let my self if I got 50 cents worth of pennies balanced on their side my record is 32.
Sorry about my spelling and grammar. I am learning disabled and the spell check on my i-pod doesn't always work well. =\

What about if you're not aware you're cutting when you cut. Like when your mind goes black and you when you come around you realise what's happened.

Jade this sounds like you might be dissociating. Would you like to start a thread about this?

Newly discovered one for me.

Driving, motorway therefore kinda fast and hand out the window till it goes numb.

And again, don't think its a particularly healthy alternative but I find intercourse can (excuse the cliche) releive a lot of tension.
