I think you should deal with your problems day by day and try to find something to fill in those days besides medication, although I do feel you need medication but most of all stay busy and take it day by day. That's what I do especially when I start to feel down I go for a run or bikeride or stop by a restaurant even if it's a Subway if you only have 5 dollars for food.
