Hi im so pleased to have found this site, over the two and a half years that ive had conversion disorder i havent come across any other sufferers.
My symptons started when i collapsed, i suffered poor speech not being able to swallow, paralysis of left hand side, unable to sit up or controll my head movements, muscle spasms, and seizures.
The drs thought id had a stroke, but after seeing a neurologist, having a MRI scan, CT scan and EEG, and nothing showing up they gave me the diagnosis of conversion disorder.
Two and a half years on i have recovered my speech am able to eat again normally, have more feeling in my left hand side than i had.
I am still in a wheelchair outside i can take a few steps with a crutch with assistance, although my left leg and foot turn inwards.
i still get muscle spasms but not has bad, i have trouble with vomiting but am ok has long has i take my anti sickness medication, i still suffer badly from pseudoseizures(non epileptic seizures) which do affect my quality of life.
I try to be has independant has i can but with great difficulty
Would anyone like to share there experiences of living with this disorder and there symptons of it.
I would love some e.mail pals with this disorder.
Best wishes Sonia.
