Is he or is he not?

Postby CLBF » Thu Aug 02, 2012 12:57 am

ive been dating my boyfriend for the last 2years, and i love him more than anything. I recently ended it because i got one big lie and then i could see the rest of them clearly after that. I confronted him and he disappeared after that. He lies about where he is, he lies about what hes doing, who his friends are, im as well thinking about his exes, he makes up this huge dramatic stories about what hes going through right now as a reason to not meet up eventho we are not far from each other, i feel like he lies about everything.. When i catch him in the small ones, he either says hes not lying or sorry but now i noticed he covers it with another lie. is that a compulsive liar? i feel like i dont know what is the truth anymore.. :/ would appreciate if someone could give me their opinion.

thank you!

Hi CLBF,
Sorry to hear about your recent break up with you bf. Does it really matter now whether he is a compulsive liar or not? I suppose he could be a CL, or he could have a personality disorder, or neither, or both, or something else entirely. A label doesn't change the facts of what happened. Even if we give him the benefit of the doubt, he has to want to change, for this to have even a chance of actually changing.
Take care.
I am not on the forum much these days. Please contact another staff member. Thank you.

Hi janjones,

thank you for replying. I guess it doesnt change much right now, but the disappearing doesnt make sense to me. All of the other times, he small lies, i confront him and he covers it with other lies or says sorry just so we could move on, but this time i confronted him and he disappeared.i guess im just trying to understand him because i do wanna give him the benefit of the doubt. But i understand that he needs to want to change, so i cant do anything about it.

thank u for ur time!
