Help with compulsive lying

Postby Brillo2723 » Fri May 30, 2014 7:32 pm

Hello everyone,
I am a 38 yr old man who has as far as I can remember had an issue with lying. I had it under control for quite a while but when my wife got sick a few years ago I found myself looking for any kind of recognition from anyone which unfortunately led to an affair and of course a lot of lying to both woman. I have been trying to get help anywhere I possibly can because I am at rock bottom. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated

I have been in this situation except I never got caught. Not bragging, it was completely wrong. However, you need to come clean. I am a compulsive liar, so I know how hard this must sound. I wish you the best.

You don't say if you're still having the affair. Are you still married? Does the other woman know you're married?
Until you answer those questions it's hard to give any advice.
In my opinion there is no good reason to have either a physical or emotional relationship outside of the marriage. Married is married period.
Either way, your wife should be told , let her make the decision where to go from here.
