I see this in an old post, but I Really Hope you will read this. Your son sounds just like my 9 year old did at 2-4. Please look into having a neuropsychiatric exam done!! I suggest you look into Meridell it is in Texas and is suppose to be one of the best. I am scared for you and your family!! We have had a long road, there is so much I wish someone would of told me. I would love to help you by just sharing what I know. My son had the dx of PDD NOS when he was young, however after being placed on a mood stabilizer the symptoms went away....that ment it wasn't really PDD it was a problum with his brain, turns out the frontal lobe. You are the mom, if you feel a certain way it is right!! Don't ever let anyone, not even the ones with the degrees on wall, make you doubt yourself or question what is right for your son. Keep talking untill someone listens. Please find a local support group any support group for childhood mental illness.....I would start with Bi-polar. Although your son is too young for that dx and may not even be what he has, the others in the group can help you with advocating for your son and local resources. Also, each state has a federally funded advocacy program for people with disabilities. They are attonerys that will advocate for your son, like with the school system. It is free of charge, please see if you can find that program in your state. Also document everything, dr appoitments, mood, behaivor, medication.....EVERYTHING, it will help the docs help your son!! Good Luck, I hope you get this and let me know if you have any questions.
