name calling to a child

my mom called me ugly when i was little i think she did it to hurt me what should i do ?

I'm sorry this is something you experienced. I had adults I knew and looked up to insult/berate me as a kid, it's such a hurtful thing to go through.

Do you have a therapist or counselor you can talk to about it? Therapy helped me with a lot of the childhood emotional abuse I experienced, and they'll be more qualified to figure out how you may be able to heal from this.

Yep that is a terrible thing to do to a child. The most wonderful thing a parent can give their child is confidence. Hard to do.

The easiest thing a parent can do is destroy it. Giving their child a legacy of pain through out life.
