EMDR or Something else to treat issues from childhood abuse?

Postby RNails » Thu Nov 15, 2018 1:44 pm

I was emotionally and physically abused as a child and now have issues associated with that. I'm looking for some kind of therapy that taps into the subconscious mind and helps treat issues from childhood trauma. I've heard EMDR is great but that it works better for single episode victims. Is there a therapy better than EMDR that taps into subconscious and focuses more on general ongoing physical and emotional childhood abuse instead of single episode?

I am not sure but can you give us some more info.

The country you are in.

How old are you.

Are you currently in therapy,

Have you previously tried therapy

- one of the things with long term is we have compounding issues. Each problem has the potential over time to spawn others. Self esteem hurts, career, bad career, leads to feeling unhappy/angry, then it effects family, relationships, makes work issues harder, possibly financial, and so it goes on.

I myself have found these the biggest challenge to happiness, or at least reducing unhappiness.
