I'm so sad. My parents got abusive b/c of their mood disorders. They didn't mean what they did but still...they had bipolar-ish stuff, so I know it makes it not their faults, but I'm hurt. (crying)

huge huge hugs - i'm really sorry
I don't want to say that it was their fault if it definitely wasn't but when i've read through the bipolar section here, everyone there seems to be able to control their behaviour aside from when they're in a manic episode..
so i guess what i'm saying is.. did your parents genuinely never have a choice about the way they acted or could they have done things differently at any point?
xx
Shine me a light up
and i'll run round the moon..

I had a Bi-polar mother, was not fun.
I think grieving for a lost joy in childhood is normal. I find myself still doing it on rare occasions.
You can never get it back, so make the most of what else you have in life.

I really don't know. This confuses me sometimes. Sometimes I believe it was unintentional. Other times abuse seemed to be intentional. Esp the emotional abuse. But I also have borderline traits and bipolar myself so I can twist things around/misunderstand/distort. Or it could be both them and me.

Constantly trying to diagnose them. There was definitely bipolarity, but I have also wondered if my family members and old friends have personality disorders too. And if there's been smear campaigns, etc. My parents would tend to "go" to my sibling and my friends to make me or my siblings look bad sometimes.
