Someone trying to get rise out of me

Postby perfectlynumb22 » Wed Feb 01, 2017 2:28 pm

Hi guys,

For a long time now I have a grocery delivery guy come to my door to deliver shopping. Once he has given me my shopping I have to sign for it on a piece of paper, before he hands me the pen to sign he says "come on" in a contemptuous but calm voice like he's talking to a stupid child.

This infuriated me from the off. I've reacted by laughing at him, by mimicking him, by staring angrily at him and even by doing it to him before he does it. It doesn't stop him or make him change. He just carries on like a robot.

It's obvious he's doing it to get a rise. The problem is if I don't give him a reaction I feel like a bitch. I feel like the bully victim.

My question is how the hell do I deal with this without my self esteem being affected?

I've thought about this but the problem is if he is told off by a manager and returns, there's good chance if he stops with verbal abuse, he will do something else out of spite like excluding items from my shopping or worse....

I don't blame you for thinking that way. I would be afraid for the same reasons as you describe. What I would do, is just try to ignore. Like they say, "be the bigger person." I found this on line,

The way to beat them is to stop fighting them.

Just try to blow them off and answer when spoken to or if you can, can you switch delivery grocery stores?
