bullied

Postby GummyFeet » Sun May 21, 2006 11:27 pm

i have been bullied for so many years. but, one thing that hurt me the most is when kids call me ugly. so many kids have called me that, and i know some of you will say something like, that is a common insult and they dont really mean it, but i think they all did. i feel very ugly now, because so many other peapole think i am. and last year, one boy called me "monkey" the whole year because i have brown eyes, brown hair. i hate looking in the mirror and seeing how i loook.

Did you know that dominant form of the gene controlling eye-colour is Brown? Therefore, you are dominant in that respect:!: Blue, green, and grey eyes are all caused by a recessive form of the eye-colour gene.

Brown hair and brown eyes sounds delightful actually but I can relate to your story somewhat. My cousin used to call me a monkey too and it really angered me. I was too shy back then to retort however.

Contrary to what you think, I believe that they do not truly mean it when they call you ugly. Words come in and out of bullies' minds so fast and when they find a word that hurts their target they stick to it.

I do not want to utter any clichés to you because clichés (Being clichés) aren't really processed in the mind. However, you simply have to 'Fire your moral-artillery' and generate feelings in your head that you are a person that in no way deserves the suffering you receive.

The bullies who call you ugly are just putting you down to feel better about themselves. I'm sure you are better looking than some of them.

For your own sake, you should beat the snot out of the kids who bully you.
The worst that could happen is you get told off, and the other kid gets hurt. That kind of pain fades in a matter of hours, but thats nothing in comparision to the long term effects of how you will be if you dont make a stand.
Or maybe your not a violent man, and there are alternatives, but not a day goes by that i wish i did beat the snot out of the kids who bullied me. Without self-esteem, the world is very limited.
Ofcourse, i half expect everyone to disagree with me, but mine are just one persons opinions who has been through the same sort of thing.
In short, youve gotta stand up for yourself, violently or not.
And not to be rude or anything, but I find ugly people are far more humble, and kind people, compared to beautiful people who are used to getting what they want all the time.

It has just occurred to me from reading your post FriedPiper that perhaps the reason why bullying has affected us so much is exactly because we never fought back - never stood up for ourselves.

Don't listen to them, but certainly don't ignore them either! The first thing you should try is complaining to a teacher - and if he doesn't take decisive action, complain to another.

defiatley talk to a teacher; if they don't do anything, go to another, and if no one does anything, talk back to the bullies, and if they don't stop then, beat them up.

I think the comment about standing up for yourself is the most accurate, in my opinion. We don't want anyone intruding in our identity, at the same time, we don't want to stoop to the level of any bully. If they assault us verbally, verbally correct them by stating the truth about us and tell them to stop. If they don't stop then leave the situation. If they continue to harass, it is easily within our rights as human beings to draft security measures, ie call the police, or security, or get a protective order against that person. In this way the people are thwarted in their current, and all future, attacks. If they assault you physically, I would try to have the ability to deflect attacks. If the attack becomes extremely violent, the defense will become violent too. It is all up to us how we decide to protect our boundaries. No war was ever won by not somehow stopping the enemy from completely overwhelming our boundaries.
Knowing me a bit more every day!
