How bad is it?
It ruins everything, and you know it.

Sammyj is right. yes.....it really does do the harm we hear of. How it affects you....personally my opinion would be the harm to your body will depend on how long you continue. You've not died yet...no...but then how long have you been at this? Just because you've not died yet or not have needed hospitilization doesn't mean it will never happen. It doesn't happen quickly....the destruction of your body from eating disorders is a slow process.

Have any of you ever seen the Karen Carpenter story? She was a singer from the 70s...mind you she dealt more w/ the anorexia side of eating disorders.....every now and then Lifetime will air her tv movie. She died. And at the point her body shut down and she died...she was actually doing better....she had been seeking counseling and was eating again....but she had done so much damage that by that time in her life...it was too late.

God knows, I don't think I really want to find out tho! There is the small issue of puking up all the food you put into your system, which, given that food is where we get almost 100% of our energy from, can certainly pose a problem... :)
Small things I've noticed since not purging... Energy, boundless energy (comparitively speaking), glowing, healthy face, good skin, decrease in crazy weight fluctuation (not purging is far less stressful that way if you get the eating habits in order). And the ability to look people in the eye in worth its weight in gold.

Personally, I'd like to be able to synthesize sunlight, like plants. That way I'll need to be watered, but never fed! Makes everything a whole lot easier! :)
